Are you feeling unprepared for the arrival of your baby?

Maybe you’re worried you won’t know what to do when you bring your baby home?

Or perhaps you just have questions about caring for your baby, sleep or first-aid?

Becoming a parent is more than just about birth. And while your labour may last hours, your role as a parent will last a lifetime. Beyond Birth is all about helping you embrace parenthood with confidence so you feel prepared to bring your newborn baby home!

6 AUGUST 2017

All your newborn-care, sleep and first-aid questions answered in our intimate group environment

Master real-life parenting skills like swaddling, bathing and changing a nappy on a true-to-life baby

A realistic perspective on parenthood from our panel of new mums and dads

A full day experience including delicious food in a beautiful and unique Melbourne venue

And of course – you’ll leave Beyond Birth feeling confident, prepared & excited to bring you newborn home!

You don’t realise until you bring your baby home, how very little you learn in prenatal classes about actually caring for a baby.

Learning about labour and birth is good, but what you really want and need once your baby is born is to know how you’re supposed to care for them!

Is Beyond Birth just for expectant mums?

Absolutely not. Parenting is a team effort and that’s exactly why each ticket includes entry for two people. We encourage expectant mums to bring along their husbands, partners or other support persons (e.g. a parent, sibling or best friend).

How many weeks pregnant should we be when we attend Beyond Birth?

It’s recommended that you attend Beyond Birth during weeks 20 – 34 of pregnancy, although we do welcome all expectant parents.

But I’m not a first-time-parent – is that okay?

Of course, we welcome all expectant parents, including those who need a refresher.

We’re adopting a baby / giving birth via a surrogate – is Beyond Birth suitable for us?

Absolutely. Beyond Birth is all about parenting and newborn care, and not at all about birth and labour.  So of course, we’d love for you to join us!

Will I receive a baby manual or instruction booklet?

We wish it was that easy! Despite what others may promise, there is no one-size-fits-all approach to caring for a baby.

You will however receive the Beyond Birth Resource Kit jam-packed full of information, practical tips and resources that will help you make informed decisions that suit your family and your circumstances.

But we’re already signed up for prenatal classes at our hospital?

That’s great – prenatal classes will certainly help you prepare for labour and birth.

But unfortunately they won’t prepare you for what to expect once you bring your baby home from hospital – the basics like caring for your newborn, sleep, settling and first-aid. We know this because we’ve spoken to and surveyed hundreds of new parents to find out what they learnt in birth classes, and what they wish was covered.

Do you offer installment plans?

We understand that money is usually tight in those last couple of months before having a baby. If you’d like a installment plan to ease the burden, please send an email to and we can liase with you directly to arrange a PayPal Installment Plan.

What about food – will there be food?

Of course! As your hosts, we promise to feed you, hydrate you and make you feel comfortable in whatever way we can. Just remember to include any special requirements in your registration form so that we can make sure to accommodate your needs.

How do I get to The Olsen? Is there parking?

The Olsen is located at 637 – 641 Chapel Street, South Yarra. Click here for directions, parking and public transport access.

We’d like to combine Beyond Birth with a babymoon staycation – can you help us out?

Absoloutely. We can do better – can offer you an exclusive discount code!

We’d love to attend, but that date just doesn’t work for us!

We wish you could join us, but understand how busy it can get at these late stages of pregnancy. Please get in touch with us and we’ll see what we can do to help you.

Ok, so this sounds amazing but ….

Here’s the thing, straight up – if you didn’t need Beyond Birth, if you were already feeling confident,  you probably would not have gotten this far down the page. It can be hard to take that first plunge – whether it’s just the uncertainty of attending an event, the investment of time and money so close to having a baby, or a partner who just isn’t all that interested – we get it. As mums ourselves, we’ve been exacrly where you are right now and we understand. We really do.

But here’s the thing (and you’ll have excuse us because we just cannot sugar coat this).

You’ll never have this experience again. Ever. Don’t you want first experience to be one of joy? Don’t you want to feel relaxed, supported and happy? I know you do because that’s all any new parent really wants.

Then you need to let us help you begin your parenting journey with confidence. And here’s the thing, if you do leave Beyond Birth and you don’t feel more confident, then we’ll happily refund your money. Yep. That’s how strongly we believe that we can help you begin your parenting journey with confidence.

So what are you waiting for?

10% of all profits from Beyond Birth will be donated to Perinatal Anxiety & Depression Australia (PANDA).

Up to 1 in 7 new-mums and up to 1 in 20 new-dads are diagnosed with postnatal depression each year in Australia. PANDA help raise awareness and provide community support.
